We work only with the outer surface of the casing and do not take the device apart. Formally, though, any engraving is an intervention in the product, and it may affect Apple warranty service. We say so before we start; the decision is yours.

§ 02 —— FREQUENT QUESTIONS
What people ask about a new device
Will engraving lower the resale price? −
Most likely yes: an owner’s name on the casing narrows the pool of buyers. If you plan to sell the device, it is better to place the marking in an inconspicuous area or on a removable part — we will suggest options in the studio.
Can you engrave a coloured iPhone — will the colour come off? −
On an anodised or painted casing the beam removes the coloured layer, so the marking comes out light — that is precisely the working effect. We will show you a sample on the same material before we start.
Do you engrave the device in its case, or does the case have to come off? −
The case comes off — we need direct access to the surface. The device itself is never taken apart.
How long does it take — can I wait for it? −
20–30 minutes per device. We normally do it while you wait, and there is no rush surcharge.
What if I don’t like the result? −
That is why we make a preview and align with a pilot beam beforehand: you see the exact position and size of the marking and approve the layout. Once engraved, nothing can be changed — the metal has been removed.
